Paisley's Gilmour Street railway station is the nearest to the airport. Just one mile from the terminal, it can be reached by taxi or by regular bus services from bus stop bay 1 – located just outside the terminal building.
There are direct rail services from Paisley Gilmour Street to Glasgow Central, Ayr and Clyde Coast destinations.

Eight trains per hour (Monday-Saturday) and five per hour (Sunday).
Rail tickets from Glasgow Airport to Glasgow Central station, via Paisley Gilmour Street station, can be purchased from the SPT Travel Centre on the ground floor of the terminal building, adjacent to domestic arrivals.
When travelling to the airport from any station in Scotland, you simply ask for a rail ticket to Glasgow Airport and this is then valid on the train to Paisley Gilmour Street and the Arriva bus service from Paisley to the airport.

Airport taxis are available 24 hours a day to any destination and any distance. Taxi drivers are obliged to meter the entire journey and publish their scale of charges. Longer distance journey prices may be negotiated with the driver. The taxi fare from Glasgow Airport to Glasgow city centre is approximately L18 - L20, depending on traffic volume.
The taxi rank is located at the front of the terminal building, a short walk from UK arrivals. Assistance from the taxi management company and a list of charges is available at the taxi booking office next to the taxi rank. Telephone Cabfly, the taxi management company, on +44 (0)141 848 4588.
Only designated taxi companies are able to pick up from the inner forecourt. These include Renfrewshire Council licensed taxis, and members of Glasgow Taxis Ltd (black cabs) who are permitted to make pre-arranged pick ups from the inner lane. Private hire taxis must collect passengers from designated pick-up points in Car Parks 1 and 3.
If you have any reason for complaint, quote the driver's permit taxi plate or vehicle registration number to the airport duty manager as soon as possible.
Glasgow Airport is the first airport in Scotland to be linked to the National Cycle Network. The route travels from the airport through Paisley to link with National Route 7 (Inverness to Carlisle) and National Route 75 (Leith to Gourock) which cross in Paisley.
Covered, lockable cycle lockers are available in Car Park 1 and adjacent to UK Arrivals at the airport. Lockers/stands are also available at several locations in Paisley.

Passengers must remain with their luggage at all times for security reasons. Flight information screens are prominently displayed in each lounge.
Servisair Executive Lounge
Passengers wanting to avoid the crowds before security can pre-book the Servisair executive lounge. In this tranquil retreat you can work or relax with complimentary drinks and snacks. The Servisair executive lounge is available for a small fee to all passengers, not just first and business class, and is situated on the second floor of the airport building. BA, bmi and KLM first and business class passengers can use the BA terrace lounge (at Gate 18), bmi diamond lounge (first floor, Domestic Pier) and the KLM lounge (International Pier) respectively. There is also another lounge for BA first and business class passengers at Gate 16, though this has reduced opening hours.
Most restaurants and bars provide high chairs and children's menu. Boots supply baby essentials such as nappies, forumla milk and baby wipes.
WH Smith offers a wide range of magazines, comics and puzzle books to kekep children entertaine din the lounges and in the air.
Baby Changing Facililties
There are four baby change rooms available at Glasgow Airport. Before security, there is one on the first floor by Starbucks Cafe. After security there is one in the international departure lounge beside Drum and Monkey and Bargo, and one on the International Departures Pier adjacent to Gate 29. There is also a baby change room in the International baggage reclaim hall for arriving passengers. In addition most toilets throughout the terminal have wall mounted baby changing units.
Play Areas
Gamegrid Play Area is located next to Burger King on the first floor. A soft play area for young children is located at Gate 50 on the International Pier past security. Puzzle tables, Lego play equipment, and Fingabox interactive screens are also provided next to seating areas at several locations throughout the terminal building.
Arcade Entertainment
Gamegrid provide the best in arcade entertainment including ice hockey, table football and computer games.
Changing Areas
There are four babycare rooms available at Glasgow Airport. Before security there is one on the first floor by Starbucks. After security, there is one in the international departure lounge by J&R Tennent and one on the International Pier just after World Duty Free. There is also a baby change room in the international baggage reclaim hall for arriving passengers. In addition many toilets have wall mounted baby changing units.
Cash Facilities
Cash dispensers are available both before and after security search. All cash dispensers will accept all valid UK bank and building society cards (i.e. Link affiliated) without surcharge. They also accept major credit cards.
Exchange offices: American Express, Travelex and ICE have their offices in terminal.

Keys
If you require to leave keys at the airport for collection, please contact THS on 07940 161 978 to arrange a suitable meeting point. Your keys will be asigned a locker number and a password agreed. On collection, the recipient must confirm the password and sign to confirm collection. The cost is £5 per transaction.
New legislation in scotland has introduced a ban on smoking in public places. This applies to BAA Scotland’s three airports - Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. Therefore smoking within terminal buildings at Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen Airports will be prohibited. designated smoking areas are located outside the terminal building at various points. It will be an offence to smoke in a public space. Individuals who do so will be liable to a fixed penalty fine of £50. Airport Prayer Room
The non-denominational airport prayer room on the second floor provides a quiet, restful place for passengers of all denominations. The prayer room is open continuously for the benefit of all who wish to exercise the disciplines of a religion or who would wish merely to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The airport chaplain, Rev Alistair Goss, conducts services at various times and days of the week and these are announced on the terminal public address system. The chaplain is available to all who use the airport. Let him know by leaving your name, telephone number or address at the Information Desk on the first floor, where it will be kept in confidence and passed to him. Meeting Rooms:
The Glasgow Airport Business Centre (+44 (0)141 847 5450) offers meeting rooms, conference facilities, an IT suite and full secretarial support. The Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce (+44 (0)141 847 5499) has meeting rooms available for hire near to the main terminal building. Conference facilities for up to 35 people are also available at the nearby Travel Inn (+44 (0)141 842 1563).
Internet Access:
Should you wish to use our computers to surf the net Spectrum Interactive have fixed terminals located Starbucks in UK arrivals, at Gate 26 (Domestic Pier) and at Gate 3 (East Pier). Payment for this service is online with your credit card, or by using pounds sterling(L) and euro(€) coins at the access points themselves. The Business Work Station on the first floor, at the east end of the airport building also offers internet access as well as other business services.
For security reasons, the blue badge (previously orange badge ) scheme does not operate on the Glasgow Airport road system. Unattended cars will be towed away by the police and a fine must be paid in order to retrieve such vehicles.
Short stay car park
Prices are displayed clearly at car park entrances. Clearly signed blue badge parking is available in car parks 1 and 2, where spaces are located as close to the terminal building as possible. In car park 2 spaces are available on all levels and Help Points are available on every level. If you require assistance from the car park to the terminal building, this should be arranged in advance by phoning Unity on +44 (0)141 848 7568 or email unity@ baa.com. Please allow at least 48 hours to process the request through the appropriate handler. If you wish to park in a blue badge space but take your badge away with you, you will need to show your badge to the car park operator. Please contact NCP through the Help Points or contact the customer services office on the ground floor of car park 2. You must pay for car park tickets at the customer service kiosks or automatic payment machines before returning to your car. If you cannot reach the ticket/payment slot, press the help button. The multistorey car park has a general height limit of two metres (6'9"). Long stay car park
There are blue/orange badge spaces in the Flightpath long stay car park. We advise you to contact the appropriate car park in advance to arrange suitable arrangements for transfer to the terminal building. Glasgow Airport is served by several public bus and coach operators. The operators use the central reservation of the terminal forecourt to set down and collect passengers. Raised walkways are positioned at regular intervals along the forecourt.
Scottish Citylink operate a number of liquid petroleum gas buses on the Glasgow City Centre route, and these buses are fully accessible. Enclosed bus shelters with seating are provided at bus stops.
Train Services
Paisley's Gilmour Street railway station is located two miles from Glasgow Airport. A ramp for wheelchair access to the platforms can be made available on request.
The bus service from Gilmour Street to the airport is not at present fully accessible to wheelchair users, however, an accessible taxi can be booked by contacting Cabfly on +44 (0)141 848 4588.
Taxis
A number of fully accessible taxis are available to wheelchair users from Glasgow Airport. On arrival please contact the Cabfly warden controlling the taxi rank at the UK and Ireland arrivals end of the terminal, who will ensure that you get a suitable taxi.

Help Points are situated on every level of car park 2, and an additional Help Point is located adjacent to the blue badge spaces in car park 1. One Help Point is also situated at the front of the main terminal building outside door 2, one in T2 Check-in, with further Help Phones located in baggage reclaim halls and in reserved seating areas. Assistance is free to those with special needs, and this should be booked with your airline when you make your reservation. However, if you require assistance from the front of the terminal building to check in this can be arranged in advance with Unity on +44 (0)141 842 7568 or by email to unity@ baa.com. Please allow at least 48 hours notice for the processing of your request to allow us to notify the appropriate handler. If the request is at short notice you can use the Help Points listed above and every endeavour will be made to provide assistance as quickly as possible.
Facilities for the hard of hearing and blind and partially sighted
Induction loops are fitted in many areas of the terminal and satellites and are identified by the 'sympathetic ear' sign. Pay phones and credit card telephones are available in all parts of the airport are are adapted for hearing aids. There is a text pay phone on the first floor next to the WHSmith retail outlet. A number of payphones throughout the building have the ability to send emails and faxes.
Mini loops are installed throughout the building, including the information desk, reserved seating areas, boarding card check points and a number of check-in desks both in the main terminal and Terminal 2. Guide and hearing dogs are the only dogs allowed in the terminal buildings. The airport directional signs are black on yellow providing optimum contrast to assist all users.
Reserved seating areas
There are two reserved seating areas in the airport, identified by the use of the special needs pictograms. The area on the ground floor is located under the escalator at check-in. It provides the following features:
Five low level flight information screens. Induction loop and mini-loop. Arms on both sides of seats. Space for wheelchair users. Help phone.
The reserved seating area in the international departure lounge is centrally located and provides two low level flight information screens, in addition to the above.
Security checks
The safety and security of our passengers is our number one priority. All passengers must pass through security control before they enter the departure lounge. Wheelchair users will inevitably activate the archway metal detector, and security personnel are obliged to hand search passengers who activate the alarms: therefore chair and passenger will be searched. You can ask to be searched in private, away from the main security control area if you prefer.
Toilets
Most toilet blocks include a unisex accessible toilet nearby. Parents travelling with children of the opposite sex are welcome to use the unisex accessible toilets.
Unity
If you have reduced mobility, have requested wheelchair assistance from your airline, or you have any other special need, then you can pre-book additional help from Unity (a local charity) at no extra charge. This can be assistance in a café or restaurant, help with some shopping, or even just a chat while you wait to check in.

The wireless hotspots at the airport have been extended to cover arrivals, piers and satellites as well as the departure lounges. Using a wireless compatible laptop or handheld computer, you can connect instantly to the internet enabling you to do much more with the time you spend waiting for your flight to board.
Download that all-important file for your next meeting. Access your company's intranet securely, as if you were in the office. Use the internet with high speed broadband access. Check emails and both send and receive documents.
What equipment do I need?
A wireless compatible (Wi-Fi 802.11b) laptop or handheld computer. Most modern computers have a built-in wireless LAN (local area network) card, and many can be upgraded with the addition of a wireless networking card.
What about software?
Your device should run recent Microsoft Windows software, and the service works through your usual web browser, optimised for Internet Explorer 5 or Internet Pocket Explorer.
How do I get connected?
To get online once inside the terminal, follow these simple steps:

3) Simply enter your username and password when prompted to get connected. If you haven’t got an account with one of our service providers you can sign up securely online, or in advance from their websites

What about power?
Even if your battery is flat, we have the answer. Look out for the T-Mobile laptop stations located throughout the airports. As well as power, they provide a dedicated environment in which to work and step-by-step log-on instructions.

A L290 million pound boost for Scotland’s busiest international airport was unveiled today as airport operator BAA published its 25-year blueprint for the future of Glasgow Airport.
