Covered parking is available in ramps across the street from both the Lindbergh and Humphrey terminals at MSP. Both ramps are connected to the terminals via climate-controlled skyways.
Save $2 per day by using e-park. Simply insert your credit or debit card into the card reader at the ramp entrance. This will mark the time you entered airport parking. Use the same credit or debit card to pay at one of the e-park exit lanes. The system is fully automated; no waiting in long lines for a cashier. The e-park option is available in both General and Short Term parking facilities. A receipt is available at the push of a button.
For maximum savings, park in the General ramp at the Humphrey Terminal. The Humphrey General ramp costs $4 less per day than General parking at the Lindbergh Terminal. You can travel between terminals on a shuttle bus. Shuttles run approximately every 10 minutes around-the-clock. There is no charge for this service.
Parking Tip:
Parking ramps at the airport's Lindbergh Terminal sometimes fill on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you are parking at the airport on those days, you might wish to consider saving $4 a day and ensuring you find an open parking space by parking at the Humphrey Terminal instead. A free shuttle bus will take you to the Lindbergh Terminal for your flight. Allow an extra 30 minutes for parking and transportation between terminals.

Passenger Pick up and Drop Off
Do you need to pick up or drop off someone at MSP? The process is fairly simple if you know your options and plan ahead.
Curbside Drop Off and Pick up
You may drop off and pick up travelers at the curb in front of MSP's terminals. If you choose this option, please keep in mind the following rules:
Federal security regulations prohibit leaving your vehicle unattended, even for a short time. Unattended vehicles will be ticketed and towed. You may park at the curb in front of a terminal only long enough to drop off or pick up a waiting traveler. When picking up, the traveler must be waiting outside the terminal before you park; parking your vehicle at the curb while you wait for arriving travelers to emerge from the terminal is prohibited.
Parking
Avoid the hassle of circling airport roadways, waiting for travelers to emerge from the terminal. Parking in the airport's covered, short-term ramps costs only $5 for the first hour, $3 with e-park. You can walk from parking to the terminal without ever going outside.
Where to meet arriving travelers inside a Terminal
Due to federal security regulations, meeting travelers at their arrival gate is generally no longer possible. Instead, consider meeting them at Baggage Claim, which in both terminals is open to the public. In the Lindbergh Terminal, the Starbucks Coffee shop, the Flowers on the Fly flower shop or the Firefighter Memorial statue on Baggage Claim Level make ideal designated meeting sites.
Other out-of-the way meeting spots include:
The Mezzanine overlooking the Lindbergh Terminal's Ticketing Lobby, near skyways to the Green or Gold parking ramps. At a particular terminal exit door (each terminal has exit doors marked 1 through 6). If you choose this option at the Lindbergh Terminal, make sure you specify Ticketing Level or Baggage Claim Level. Near the Travel Mart on the First Floor of the Humphrey Terminal.
People needing to travel between MSP's Humphrey and Lindbergh terminals can do so via free shuttle bus.
The Humphrey Terminal shuttle bus stop is located on ground level of the existing parking ramp, a skyway's walk from the terminal.
The Lindbergh Terminal shuttle bus stop is located outside the Transit Center, between the Blue and Red parking ramps and near the entrance to the Lindbergh Terminal Light Rail Station.
Buses run between terminals around the clock, seven days a week, every 10 minutes, on average.
Light rail service will replace the shuttle bus for inter-terminal transit in the autumn of 2007. Light rail service to the Humphrey Terminal has been temporarily suspended while a second parking ramp is constructed adjacent to the Humphrey Terminal rail station. The Lindbergh Terminal light rail station remains open and operating.
Rental car companies have phones and touch screen information kiosks at the Lindbergh Terminal on the Baggage Claim Level opposite baggage carousels 2, 5 and 10. The rental car counters are located in the Hub building located between the Blue and Red parking ramps, on Levels 1-3. Passengers can take the underground tram to go between the Lindbergh Terminal and the Hub building.
Shuttle buses to the off-airport car rental companies are accessible from the Transit Center, between the Blue and Red Parking ramps. From the Lindbergh Terminal's Tram Level, take the free underground tram to the Hub Building. Take an escalator or elevator up to the Transit Center.
Travelers Assistance (TA), a program of the Metropolitan Public Airport Foundation (MPAF), is one of the airport's most visible resources for travelers and airport visitors. Information booths, located at strategic points throughout the terminals, are staffed by hundreds of volunteers dedicated to providing quality information and services to thousands of travelers daily. One million are served annually.
In addition to providing airport, airline and tourism information, TA offers:
An interpreter service for international travelers Special help to disabled and elderly individuals A comfortable waiting area for people with special needs Infant supplies in times of emergency Oxygen delivery services within the airport.
The TA central office is located near the entrance to Concourse D and is open most days from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. We are closed on several holidays.

Lockers
Storage lockers are available in secure areas of both the Lindbergh and Humphrey terminals. The locker dimensions are about 23" tall by 15" wide by 35" deep, and can accommodate carry-on-sized luggage. For security purposes, lockers are equipped with fingerprint technology to ensure only those who store the bags can retrieve them. Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is the first airport in the nation to use such locker technology. Locker rental costs $2 per hour, with a maximum daily charge of $6. The lockers are intended for storage of 48 hours or less, and are emptied by Smarte Carte after 48 hours.

Got a few extra minutes? Head to the Observation Deck on Concourse D for a bird's-eye vantage point of the airfield. Watch planes take off and land on MSP's north parallel runway, 12L/30R, with the Minneapolis skyline as a backdrop.
Play Areas
Two children's play areas at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport make traveling with children a little easier. The play areas - on Concourse C of the Lindbergh Terminal and on the second floor of the Humphrey Terminal - were custom-made by a local company, Blue Rhino Studio, and funded by the Metropolitan Public Airport Foundation.
Each of the 1,000 square-foot play areas features a mock airplane, air traffic control tower and luggage-style seating. Painted skylines of Minneapolis and St. Paul offer a great photo opportunity for families, and fun aviation facts are displayed on wall murals and equipment. Other items, including a giant-size suitcase at the Humphrey Terminal, were designed as educational tools for kids and their parents.
Admission is free for all airport visitors and their children.
Armed Forces Service Center
Located on the Lindbergh Terminal's Skyway Level, above Door 1 of the Ticketing Lobby, the Armed Forces Service Center is an "all free" stop for active-duty military personnel, their dependents, activated or drilling reservists, or national guardsmen. The center also serves active-duty Department of Defense and PHS employees on travel orders as well as other members of the uniformed services on active duty. In appreciation for all those who have served, military retirees and veterans are welcome to a cup of coffee, pastry and seating outside the center, on the mezzanine overlooking Ticketing.

Meeter/Greeter Centers
Meeter/Greeter Centers can be leased from the airport to provide a centralized area for a group of individuals to meet and receive any further instructions or information before heading to their next destination. The centers are particularly helpful for organizations greeting conference or convention participants.
Amenities for rent include greeting booths with electronic signboards, skirted tables and chairs, and directional sign stanchions/easels. Meeter/Greeter Centers are located in the Lindbergh Terminal's Baggage Claim Level. More information – including price breakdowns -- can be found in the airport's Guidelines for Meeter/Greeter Centers and Signage.
To reserve a Meeter/Greeter Center, call Debbie Piwoschuk in the Airport Director's Office at (612) 725-6464
Airport Conference Center
The Pierson M. Grieve Conference Center provides a professional environment for the busy traveler to conduct meetings on the fly. Whether you are meeting with clients or colleagues, nothing could be more convenient or efficient than meeting at the airport.
The center is equipped with first-class amenities and services, from communication equipment to catered meals. The conference center serves both the traveling public and non-travelers who have meetings there.

A number of services are available at MSP to assist people who require extra assistance.
Making prior arrangements for wheelchair availability and access, oxygen requirements, and other accommodations before arriving at the airport will help ensure a smooth experience at the airport. Airline reservation agents and the airport's Travelers Assistance (TA) staff are available to address issues surrounding travel for persons who have special needs or are elderly.
Wheelchair Availability
Airlines provide wheelchairs for use throughout the Lindbergh and Humphrey terminals. Mention your need for a wheelchair in the terminal when you make your flight reservation. Most airlines have information about wheelchair access and other services available upon request.
Travelers Assistance (TA) volunteers can help with wheelchair requests while you are in the airport. TA volunteers may be reached by calling 612-726-5500. If you arrive at the airport without a wheelchair arranged through your airline, you may check out a wheelchair at the information booth on the Tram Level or at the security checkpoints. When you arrive at a security checkpoint, you may also ask to speak with a security supervisor and alert that person to your need for a wheelchair.
Passenger Pick Up and Drop Off
There are also designated passenger transfer areas for persons with disabilities on both levels by doors 1, 2 and 6. (Door 1 is the first door you come to as you approach the Lindbergh Terminal.)
Accessible Parking
Parking for people with disabilities is available on every level of the General and Short Term ramps at both MSP terminals. Lindbergh and Humphrey Short-Term parking ramps can accommodate vehicles up to 8 feet 2 inches tall. Vehicle clearance is 7 feet in the general ramps. Parking for people with disabilities is located near the entrances to the terminals and is available at general parking rates. Valet parking at the Lindbergh Terminal can accommodate vehicles up to 7 feet with handicap permits, but cannot accommodate vehicles with a wheelchair lift.

You may call your transportation provider directly to arrange this service. Courtesy phones for persons needing wheelchair assistance are located directly across form baggage carousels 6 and 10 on the Baggage Claim Level. Light Rail Service:
Light rail service to the airport is available. Trains stop at the Lindbergh Terminal and connect travelers to 15 other destinations, including downtown Minneapolis to the north and the Mall of America to the south. Light rail trains are zero-clearance to allow ease of boarding and exiting. The light rail station is located on the lowest level of the Transit Center. Upon arrival by light rail, take the escalators or elevators up to the appropriate levels to find ground transportation, Lindbergh terminal access and other services, including car rental.
Note: Rail service to the Humphrey Terminal has been temporarily suspended while an adjacent parking ramp is constructed. In the interim, around-the-clock bus service is available between the Lindbergh and Humphrey terminals until rail service to the Humphrey Station resumes in autumn 2007. All buses are ADA-compliant. The free shuttle buses operate approximately every 10 minutes between the Lindbergh Terminal's Transit Center and the Humphrey Terminal's Ground Transportation Center.
Electric Carts
Electric carts are available throughout the Lindbergh Terminal to transport travelers who are elderly or disabled. Two companies at MSP provide this service: Northwest Airlines contracts with Globe Aviation Services, while all other airlines contract with Primeflight Aviation Services.
In response to customer input, the "cart stop" approach was adopted at MSP to provide the best electric cart service to the traveling public. The cart stops are clearly marked with signs above blue chairs imprinted with the disabilities logo. The electric carts are scheduled to pick up passengers every 10-15 minutes. You will find “cart stops” directly inside security and at every gate along the C, D, E, F and G concourses. Consult your airline for services elsewhere.
Electric carts operated by Globe Aviation Services display signs on the cart indicating which concourses they serve. Carts operated by Primeflight Aviation Services do not display signs because its carts are not assigned to a specific concourse. Please be sure to ask cart drivers if they are going your way before getting onto a cart.
Electric cart service is not available at the Humphrey Terminal.
Accessible Restrooms
All restrooms at the Lindbergh and Humphrey Terminals are equipped with extra-wide stalls and side grab bars. Companion care restrooms in the Lindbergh Terminal can be found between checkpoints 1 and 2; in baggage claim near Door 2; near gates A3, A6, A9, B3, B7, B11, C3, C12, C16, C18, C21, C25 & F10; and on Tram Level near the escalators to the hotel shuttles.

MSP International Airport
Wireless Internet Access
For those without a laptop, Internet kiosks are available on Concourses C through G. Wireless Internet Access is available in most public areas of the Lindbergh Terminal once you pass security. Following are some questions and answers to help you get connected while awaiting your flight:
Do I need special hardware or software to use wireless service?
Your laptop or handheld PDA or Tablet PC must run Windows XP, NT, 2000, 98 or ME, or Macintosh OS 9 or OS10 and either have a built-in 802.11b (WiFi) capability or an external PCMCIA Network Interface Card (NIC).
How do I get connected?
Once your device is WiFi enabled, there are two ways in which you can get connected:
If your device is equipped with Windows XP, a few minutes after you turn on your device XP automatically finds the service and notifies you that a wireless network is available. Then check to make sure a wireless encryption protocol hasn't been activated on your device (perhaps because that is what you use in the office). If it has, you will have to turn it off. At that point, you are automatically associated with the network and simply launch your browser. If you do not have XP, open the connection manager utility that is associated with your NIC and go to the tab that allows you to establish new profiles. When it asks for the SSID (service set identifier), enter "concourse" (case sensitive, don't use the quotation marks) and click on Apply.
If I already have a monthly subscription to a Wireless ISP, can I use it on this network?
This is what is known as roaming. In order for you to use your existing subscription, your WISP must have an access agreement with Concourse Communications, the company operating the network at MSP. Check with your WISP to find out if such an agreement has been executed. If not, you can still gain access using your credit card.
Is the service available throughout the airport?
Service is available throughout the public areas of both the Lindbergh and Humphrey terminals beyond the security checkpoints. There is also coverage in the Grieve Conference Center, both Northwest Airlines World Clubs, and the Northstar Crossing concession areas.

Conde Nast Readers Rank MSP Nation's Seventh Best Airport
MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL? Conde Nast Traveler magazine's October 2006 issue includes results of a poll the magazine commissioned regarding the best hotels, airlines and airports. The business travelers polled rank Minneapolis-St. Paul International (MSP) the seventh best airport in the nation.
?It's always gratifying when travelers themselves rank Minneapolis-St. Paul International among the best U.S. airports,? said Jeff Hamiel, executive director of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which owns and operates MSP. ?One of our goals in the $3 billion airport expansion program essentially completed last year was to make MSP an airport of choice for travelers. Polls such as this one indicate we hit the mark.?
Poll respondents ranked MSP particularly high in the categories of Location/Access, Food/Shops/Amenities, and Ease of Connections, followed by Safety/Security, Design, and Customs & Baggage.
MSP often scores well in traveler surveys. In 2005, MSP was voted the Best North American Airport by respondents to the annual Skytrax Airport Survey, and Airport Revenue News named MSP the Airport with the Best Concession Program Design, writing, ?Minneapolis has set the standard by which other airports are measured. They continue to lead.?
Minneapolis-St. Paul International is the nation's 10th busiest airport. For more information about MSP, visit its Web site at www.mspairport.com.
